And just a couple of tips to help you pair your favorite new yellow pumps with your summer outfits!

This season the abundance of yellow shoes has rivaled the black shoe. Everywhere I go I see another shade of yellow in a shoe. Then I realized I could find a yellow shoe for every type of outfit. I find myself actually gravitating to this amazing color when looking for new shoes.
Before we begin the picture part of this post, I want to answer the question I get asked the most about yellow. What matches yellow shoes as far as colors and patterns?  Here’s the answer: red, turquoise, black, white, beige, light pink and navy. Are you getting my point? It goes with everything. One of my favorite looks is black and white polka dots with yellow shoes.
Wedges, flats, sandals and more in yellow can be worn with jeans:

Do you want to run around this summer in patterned sundresses?
Do not grab those brown sandals or red wedges. Consider a pair of yellow shoes:

I know many of you doubt you could wear yellow shoes to a cocktail party,
but I’m here to tell you not only is it possible, but it’s stunning.

Tips When Shopping for a Sample or Once-Wed Dress

Want to splurge on the photographer of your dreams, offer champagne to all 500 of your guests or hire that twelve piece jazz band?  Whether you want extra cash to spend on other parts of your wedding day or just need to pinch a few pennies, don’t hesitate to purchase a consignment dress.  Not only are the options for sample and once-wed dresses plentiful, you’ll have an entirely unique story about where and how your dress came to be.  When shopping for a consignment gown use your imagination as to how you can tailor and alter it to fit your own personal size and style.  One missing bead can always be replaced, a sash can cover a flower stain and a small rip in the lace can be patched and fixed.

What to look for when purchasing a sample or once-wed gown:

Be aware of stains and rips
Depending on the location, a flower, brooch or sash can cover a snag or a little spot.  If the dress has rouching on the bodice around the stain, see if the rouching can be stitched over the spot.

Test the zipper
Theres nothing worse than getting geared up on your wedding day only to realize that your dress won’t close – and it’s not because of your waist! – make sure that the zipper is fully functioning both up and down.

Look for missing beads
Is it all in one place or can it be evened out?  If there are beads on the train, know that you can easily take one from a place people won’t be looking at and put it on the bodice.

Believe in the power of restyling
Add a brooch that was your grandmothers, straps for both the look and for comfort as you dance the night away, show a little leg by making your dress tea length.  If it seems a little short, add tulle, lace or ruffles to the bottom hem.

Don’t trust the size on the label
Bridal sizes run large, so a typical size 6 could fit into an 8 or 10 bridal gown.  It is always easier to take it in than take it out and no one will EVER ask you what size your dress is.
